Dubai Falcons make international debut
Dubai Falcons, a team comprising 20 Emirati players, are making their international debut at the Bahrain Duty Free Rugby 10s this weekend.The fledgling club are using their trip as vital preparation for the Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens which take place from November 29 – December 1 at the Exiles rugby stadium in Al Aweer.
Manager Saood Belshalat said: “This is a very big step for us as it is the first time we will be competing away from Dubai.”

“We’re very excited. It will be a huge learning experience for us and the games will be hard, but we want to give our players a taste of what they can look forward to in Dubai in just a few weeks time.”
Belshalat said the team was being inspired by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.”We are very aware that we are representing our country. Shaikh Mohammad wants to make the UAE number one in the world by following certain strategies, and we want to do the same,” added Belshalat.
“We are taking only two experienced players to Bahrain.”
